We might have to post this as a sticky on this forum because I seem to be saying this all over the place, but it CAN be done.

My Spec Z legal build that I ran in ST3 at West Coast Champs weight 3115 with driver (180 lbs) and about 1/3 of a tank of gas. That was WITH the speaker box.

Given the new rules to remove the speaker box which is more like 35#, and with removing another 30# of fuel I only carried because I have not done a fuel starve fix, it had a theoretical weight of around 3050. My point there is that even a .120 cage will not weigh 50 lbs more than my .095 cage.

This can be done folks, and getting the weight down on these cars is one thing that is critical to this series becoming more popular IMO.

More weight savings ideas - Don't forget about exhaust, its a huge chunk of metal and can be made very light while still making 101 db sound.
