If a car is being driven by two people in a NASA-X event, are both drivers required to keep the car in the same class or can they choose different classes? For instance, driver/owner goes to the correct class NX-B, but the co-driver chooses to go to a "higher" class, such as NX-U. Is that legal?

There's nothing in the national NASA-X rules to prohibit that. Or they can compete in the same class (usually in different heats, region dependent.)

No reason you could not upclass. Since I did not bring my Acura last week and wanted to contend for a championship, I thought about running Dad's 944 in NXD
