I currently have a 2004 Miata LS which came stock with 16x7 wheels. I know a lot of Miata guys run 15" wheels, but I wanted to take advantage of my stock 16" wheel size and get an extra set just for AutoX. Would it be better to stick with 16" wheels, or run 15's?

Thanks!

I'd do 15", much better selection of tires that way and the larger heavier 16 or 17s aren't exactly needed for brake clearance or anything. Should help acceleration as well. Sooo many people have Miatas and have experemented with everything that the popular choices are by-and-large the best, especially if you're paying attention to just racers.

15x8 with 225 Kook RS3 or BFG rivals (or race rubber, not sure your classing). 15x9's if you willing to work your fenders. 949 racing makes a good wheel or the TRM for slightly less $ and a little more weight. run daily driver setup on your stockers.

NASA members can obtain konig wheels at discount. Konig is offering a 15x8 ET+25 "flatout" wheel that is pretty light and 4x100. check out nasa contingency page.

For Autocross I would say 15's are ideal. I have 16's on mine too and would really like to drop down an inch.

Phils: Do you have an estimated price point for those wheels? Will they come in a 15x7 as well?

question I would like to ask is this, for a stock Miata or is this a modified Miata and if it's a modified Miata what's your your rule set to allow you to change transmissions instead of tire size and which one would be cheaper. Stock Miata are you allowed to put a smaller tire/wheel on your car.

The flow formed wheel is only made in a 15x8 $189,15x9 $199 and 15x10 $219.

We do have the 15x7 Spec Miata wheel in stock currently $105 each.
