This is a copy of posting just added to SE Region Facebook page.

As a Certified Public Account, have been asked by others in our region what a taxpayer should do in order to write-off racing or track event costs, depreciate tow hauler, RV, race car, etc. Most I have spoken with on this topic are doing it wrong or have high audit risk should the IRS ever come knocking on their door.

I am considering offering a presentation at Road Atlanta Friday night (June 3rd - time and location TBD). It will be a casual conversation, bring your favorite beverage and expect to last an hour. Would like to keep the group small so we can stay on topic and cover the most important points regarding track events and how to best structure for tax benefit.

If you are self employed you should give consideration even if you are not racing. Interested parties send a private message for more informastion.
